A Thanksgiving Story
And Jesus said, “What shall we do for food? I am hungry and you know how I get.”
Simon, who is Peter, checked the fridge but found only condiments and left-over vegetables from John’s lunch (for John was a vegan.)
Peter turned to Thomas and said, “What shall we do? There is little in the fridge and the cabinets contain only stale bread and a can of cranberry sauce.”
Thomas said, “I doubt we will find anything the Master will appreciate!”
Just then, John walked in with a hideous fat bird, saying “Behold, look what feathered creature followed me home! I shall keep it and care for it.”
Peter said to John, “look over there. What is that behind you,” and John looked, for that joke was new in those days.
As John was distracted, the disciples quickly killed and prepared the bird replacing its entrails with stale bread and vegetables before placing it in the oven.
The Lord was pleased at the aroma and the disciples called it Thanksgiving, for they were thankful.
John ate a salad alongside the others and they mocked him tremendously, but John cared not, for he knew he would outlive all of them due to his healthy lifestyle choices.
